Heat Retaining Solar Covers
Heat Reflecting covers - how they work - The sun's heat rays will pass through the solar cover into the pool water, but will then be reflected back into the pool by the metallic gold or silver coloured underside of the cover, creating more heat retention than the conventional solar covers.
Our range of solar gain covers are manufactured on specialist machines developed and adapted to produce flat covers with a strong weld. Our solar cover range uses materials of the highest quality and has been thoroughly tested and proven as one of the best in the UK market.
We offer the following Solar Covers:
- 400 Micron Solar Cover - Blue - 3 year pro-rata warranty
- 400 Micron Solar Cover - Blue/Silver -3 year pro-rata warranty
- 500 Micron Solar Cover - Blue/Gold - 4 year pro-rata warranty
- SB550 Reinforced Polyweave Blue/Blue - 3 year pro-rata warranty
The SB550 is a conventional 400 micron blue cover with a tough 172gsm tarpaulin type fabric laminated to the topside. This is particularly suitable for use where the cover is likely to be handled frequently or roughly such as kidney shaped pools and commercial pools. Its strength and heat retention properties make it ideal for use on indoor pools.
- Solar protection sheets are provided FREE with all solar covers. This sheet must be used to cover the solar cover when it is not on the pool.
- Solar covers are supplied oversize and will require a small amount of trimming on site with scissors.
- Solar covers are supplied in bags. Whilst we do everything in our power to protect them from damage in transit, damage does sometimes occur. It is important that these bags are checked for damage before signing for delivery. Once it is signed for, the carrier will not entertain any claims for damage. It is the responsibility of the receiver to ensure that this is done.
- Our solar cover warranty is applied to covers used on pools run at 30°C or less.
- Shock treatment of the pool with chemicals whilst the cover is on will seriously degrade the cover and void the warranty.
- During manufacture, the heat welding process may cause slight reversion. This is acceptable throughout the swimming pool industry and will not detract from the life expectancy or performance of the cover.
6mm Foam covers are made from heavy duty closed cell polyethylene foam (460gm2) which makes them particularly suitable for use on school or commercial pools and spas, giving large savings on fuel bills due to the reduction in heat loss from the surface of the pool. Recommended on indoor pools to retain heat and cut down on condensation. 6mm foam covers are supplied heat welded on the top and bottom on all seams and can be finished with a tough PVC hem at an additional cost. This cover should not be used above 40°C (104°F).
