Rendering the pool walls & screeding the floor
With the walls up and the through wall fittings incorporated, it’s now really starting to look like a swimming pool. Once the mortar has cured and hardened the next job is to render the walls. This is a skilled job and getting a perfectly smooth and flat finish against which the liner will sit is absolutely vital, so if you’re not 100% confident about your skills in this department, get a skilled professional in. This is sound advice for any aspect of the build you are not confident about undertaking yourself.
When the wall render has dried and hardened, the profiles of the pool floor sections are marked out in string lines and the floor is screeded, again ensuring each section is absolutely flat and smooth. The main drains are fitted at the deepest part of the pool and firmly tamped into the floor screed.
