You may have noticed that we often describe our telescopic buildings as having a certain number of angles, i.e. a ‘3 angle high profile enclosure’, or a ‘7 angle medium profile enclosure’, and so on. But what does this mean, and how does this affect you when choosing a building?
If you look at one of our buildings end on at the profile, it describes the number of angles from the vertical incorporated into our aluminium structure. The photograph below shows a 5 angle medium profile building with those 5 angles highlighted so that you know what to look for.

So, how do you know how many angles you wish to order? Well, the primary driver is aesthetics, so, if there is a certain number of angles in a profile that you prefer the design of, we’ll try and accommodate that.
We say “try” purposely there, as sometimes the minimum number of angles required in a particular design is dictated by engineering needs in order to maintain the strength and integrity of the finished structure against wind forces and snow loading; especially given that we can manufacture enclosures with single span widths of up to 21m. So, say, for example, you wished to have a building 21m wide with 3 angles, that wouldn’t be possible because 3 angles would not render the building strong enough across a span of 21m, so the engineering needs would dictate a greater number of angles in this instance.

The Olympia is the name we give to a style of building with vertical sides and a shallow gently sweeping roofline from the top of the vertical wall to the apex. It is the Olympia roof line and the strength inherent in this design which allows us to manufacture high profile buildings but with single span widths of up to an incredible 21m (over 63 feet!). The photos below show interior and exterior views of 7 angle buildings featuring Olympia rooflines.
